New Creation Church's Statement of Faith
The Bible: We believe that the Bible is God's inerrant, sufficient, and authoritative word and is always true and never false in all that it affirms. It is our highest authority and we strive to subject all our thoughts, actions, and attitudes to its each and every word, properly interpreted according to the intent of its authors.
The Triune God: We believe there is only one God who eternally exists in the happy fellowship of three persons: Father, Son, and Spirit. All three persons are equal in power and glory.
God the Father: We believe in God the Father Almighty who is the maker of heaven and earth.
Jesus Christ: We believe in Jesus Christ his only Son and our Lord. Jesus was and is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, died, rose bodily, and ascended into heaven where he now reigns at the right hand of the Father, intercedes for sinners, and sends his Spirit to dwell in his people.
Holy Spirit: We believe in the Holy Spirit who is the Lord and giver of life. He indwells all believers with his personal and empowering presence and graciously conforms them to the image of Jesus. The only sure sign of the Spirit’s work is found in the fruit he produces in the lives of those he indwells.
Mankind: We believe that God himself created our first parents, Adam and Eve, in his image to reflect his character and represent his rule over creation. All human's, including the unborn, bear this image.
Marriage: We believe that the Bible is about marriage from beginning to end. It begins with the marriage of Adam and his bride, and ends with the marriage of Jesus, the last Adam, and his bride the Church. Sexual relations of any kind committed outside of the one-flesh marriage covenant between a man and a woman are clearly condemned in the Bible and are a distortion of God's good intentions for sexuality.
Sin and Judgment: We believe that because of our first parent's rebellion, all humans are now born spiritually dead to God and will always begin rebelling against him as soon as they start to assert their wills. As a race of rebels, we all deserve death and separation from him in the eternal, conscious punishment Jesus himself calls hell.
Salvation: We believe that though we all individually deserve hell for our rebellion against God, he showed us his amazing grace by sending Jesus to die for us on the cross. Jesus willingly died there in our place, bearing in his own body the full punishment for our sins. Now, anyone who trusts that Jesus died and rose again for them and turns from their sin to him for rescue will be saved by him from sin and hell.
Church: We believe that the universal church is the global assembly of all those who have repented from their sins and trusted in Jesus Christ for salvation. Yet the New Testament clearly describes the life of the individual believer as a life lived in the context of the "local" church. Local churches, like New Creation Church, are gatherings of believers who assemble to hear the word rightly preached and to rightly administer the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's supper.
Return: We believe that Jesus will return bodily as he promised to raise the dead, bring his rescued bride into new creation rest, and cast Satan and all his followers into hell.
